CH. Escada's Court of Coach K "Coach K" is from the first litter of Ch. Korcula Midnight Spice, sired by Ch. Trailside's Loaded Dice (L).  He was the pick male from the litter of eleven and is liver brown and white.  He completed his championship under Virginia Lyne in Atlanta in August, 2003 and is the second in his litter to finish.

As a class dog, Coach K has won two Best of Breed awards under Judges Mr. Keith Bates and Mr. Dennis McCoy.  He has also won two Group Third awards under Judges Mr. Randy Garren and Dr. Alvin Krause.  He won his first major at the Atlanta Combined Specialties in Perry, Georgia in April, 2002 under Judge Mrs. Betty Leninger.  Competing in the Dalmatian Club of America National Specialty Show in May, 2003, Coach K was the Open Liver Class winner under renowned all breed judge Mrs. James Edward Clark.

Coach K's litter was born in January, 2001 during Duke University's 2000-2001 Men's Basketball National Championship season.  During that year, Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski was honored with the naming of the basketball court at Cameron Indoor Stadium "Coach K Court".  Coach K (the dog) is the  namesake of Coach K (the man) and his registered name is from the court at Cameron.  One of his littermates, also owned by a Duke alumni, has the call name "Cameron".

Coach K began his show career at age 8 months at the Atlanta Georgia Cluster shows in September, 2001.  In his first two shows he was selected as Winners Dog by Judges Mr. Don Jones and Mrs. Cynthia Jennings.  He was also Mrs. Jennings' selection for Best of Winners.  Coach K also earned points under Mr. Ron Pemberton, Mel Downing, Sue Woodle, Maxine Beam and Virginia Lyne.

In October, at the Griffin, Georgia match competition Coach K was awarded Non-Sporting Group First under Judge Keith Bates.  He was also the adult Non-Sporting Group Match winner at the Atlanta Kennel Club's January, 2002 B-Match.

Coach K has many well known Dalmatians in his pedigree.  His father and both grandfathers are Best in Show and Best in Specialty Show Winners.   His grandfather on his sire's side, Ch. Greenwood's Rusty Nail, was the 2001 Dalmatian Club of America's National Specialty Winner from the Veteran's class.  His other grandfather, Ch. Firebuster's Gud Humor Man, was  the number one Dalmatian show dog in the country in 2001 and winner of the Pedigree Award.

His black and white litter sister Ch. Korcula Midnight Escada "Jam" is a multiple group winner and is being shown concurrently, competing at the national level.  Jam is in the Top Ten Dalmatian show dogs in the United States in 2003.
